The basic function of this committee is to be knowledgeable of NMAR issues and areas that pertain to Local and State Government; to keep up to date on political events and community leaders who may influence our industry. The Committee will operate through the leadership of the Committee Chair and the Government Affairs Director. A Call to Action can occur at any time to prevent action detrimental to our industry. Meetings during the Legislative Session may include trips to Helena and/or our various communities to testify. The Committee handles community political issues and growth policies and has a commitment to protect private property rights.
RPAC is a subcommittee of Government Affairs. The basic function of this committee is to stress the importance of RPAC to our industry to all NMAR members. The Committee operates under the leadership of the Committee Chair and the Government Affairs Director. The Committee is designed for fundraising for political candidates and strictly adheres to campaign regulations.
IMF (Issues & Mobilization Fund) is a subcommittee of Government Affairs. This committee is made up of Trustees. They have an independent budget and contribution methods to allow them to handle issues t hat come up locally, statewide or federally related to the real estate industry. They have adopted a strict set of bylaws. There is geographical representation as well as political representation on the committee. They act when the need arises and rest when there are no issues to handle. New members should make their interest known to the current chairperson. When there is a resignation, they will be considered.
