2008 Education Certificates On Sale

Instructor fees as well as room rentals and room servicing continue to increase. The committee and staff work very hard to keep these costs down. Every seat for every class needs to be sold for us to operate with financial efficiency. If we don't lose income, we can continue offering this wonderful benefit at this great low cost. Education Certificate holders who sign up for a class and then do not attend, leave a seat empty that could have been sold to a non-certificate holder for $50 - $65. That is lost income for the Education budget. Those "no-shows" cost us thousands of dollars. Some seats do get re-sold to stand-bys but not all of them. People won't wait to see if they might be able to get into a class, instead they go elsewhere and that income is lost. There were many empty seats at seminars that had been long sold-out. To curb these losses in revenue this policy was created by the Education Committee and ratified by the Board of Directors:

Two (2) "no-shows" in any calendar year will cause that member to lose his/her privilege to purchase an Education Certificate the following year.

A member losing this privilege can still attend the classes but will have to pay the fees charged to non-certificate holders. If you register for a class and then a conflict arises you can avoid being a "no-show" by calling the Association office and canceling your reservation at least five business days in advance of the class. The committee knows that sometimes a person can fall ill or have an accident or whatever and that is why they made the policy for two rather than just one "no-show." They feel this is generous. When you purchase an Education Certificate this year, your signature will be required agreeing to the above policy. This policy is being published on the certificate, in the newsletter, in this communication, on the website and in our February Education mailers. Continuing Education Certificate Information

The Northwest Montana Association of REALTORS 2008 Educational plans for REALTORS and non-REALTOR licensees as well as inactive licensees.

Continuing education certificates are $110 for members. As you know, your annual dues and the work of your volunteer members as well as your staff make this program possible. Your continued support is appreciated. The education committee meetings are on your monthly calendars. Support your local association courses so that we can continue to have classes locally. You can check nmar.com for class updates. Go to nmar.com. Click on Member’s Only. Click on Education. Check schedules and information.		As an inactive licensee, you are not required to do any continuing education throughout the year. HOWEVER, if you wish to re-activate your license, you must show proof that you have completed 24 credit hours of education within the past 24 months, 8 of which must be mandatory. Your cost is $159. Please fill out this form and send it along with your check if you wish to take the classes our Association is offering.

Non-Member licensee You may purchase a continuing education certificate from NMAR by printing out this form and mailing it with $159. The certificate entitles you to attend 24 credits. Classes are usually full far in advance, so it is important to register early.
